Even with the ongoing flu pandemic affecting much of the industry, 2021 stood out for a variety of video game releases. Although it took some time for next-generation console owners to get their hands on titles, there is no doubt that their shiny new systems had plenty to look forward to.

It didn’t matter whether you played on current-generation consoles, next-generation consoles, PCs, or handhelds, there were a lot of interesting games out there. There are many great games this year, but we chose the games we felt stood out the most.

Stories of Arise is one of them.

The game is designed both for fans of the Tales franchise and for those who have never played one before, where the story, combat, and diverse features combine to make it not only one of the best JRPGs out there today, but one of the best genres altogether. Even if you need to run some errands along the way, it will all be worthwhile in the end. Fans of the genre won’t have a problem recommending Tales of Arise to those who are invested in the genre. Currently supported by PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

A new Halo game

We Said: Halo Infinite’s inclusion on Game Pass from the get-go makes it inevitable that it will see plenty of play. The game’s campaign is well-positioned to amaze players. For fans of the series, there are plenty of throwbacks in the form of enemies, weapons, and stories. It is engaging, exciting, and endearing enough to win over a whole new generation.

While its progression and battle pass systems need refinement. Halo Infinite’s multiplayer hearkens back to the early years of the franchise under Bungie. It feels satisfying to engage in combat, which is further enhanced by modern. Features such as grapple shot, which adds a surprising amount of variety to your gunplay. The game’s story might be its weakest element but the open world allows Master Chief to fight enemies to his heart’s content, and that’s where the game’s strength lies. Xbox Series X/S/Xbox One. PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360.

Loop of death

Among the best PS5 console exclusives to date is Deathloop, one of the best games of 2021.

With this latest title, Arkane has brought yet another must-have title to the PS5’s growing library of exclusive titles. In many cases, players will have too much fun to care about its few shortcomings, including the death loop and the time loop. The Deathloop, Arkane Studios offers something slightly different from its previous work in Dishonored. In Deathloop, you’ll set up a lot of dominoes and be overwhelmed by a ton of style. It may seem too complicated at times, but once things start coming together, Arkane’s brilliance becomes obvious. PlayStation 4 and PC versions are available.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

In our review, we found that the combat lived up to its promise: let players live out their power fantasies as the Guardians of the Galaxy leader Star-Lord. Although many video games feature companions or ways to use them in combat. It can match the feeling of leading the Guardians as Star-Lord and making snap decisions in battle as a team. As chaotic as the combat is, it is also highly immersive, which is its greatest strength.

In the wake of its first trailer, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy didn’t leave gamers with much of an impression. In spite of this, the film has become one of the real surprises of 2021, proving that a strong narrative, fun characters, and outstanding performances can elevate any material.

It was a challenge for Square Enix to overcome the pre-existing relationship with the Guardians team. The developers found a way to make the Guardians feel familiar and still their own. Guardians of the Galaxy proves that linear games can still be engaging and exciting in a year with few story-driven experiences.  This game is compatible with PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Forza Horizon 5

It’s flashy and vibrant in Forza Horizon 5. With a range of cars, tracks, and challenges to complete, it has pretty much everything a racing game can offer. Even without its inclusion in Xbox Game Pass, the game ranks among the best exclusives on the Xbox One at the moment. It might not do much to separate itself from the other entries mechanically, but Forza Horizon 5 is the best the series has felt yet.

In addition to being a stunning demonstration of next-gen power, Forza Horizon 5 buckes the stigma typically associated with racing games and offers pure fun. Forza Horizon 5 offers players more than just a pretty face, thanks to Game Pass. It takes an arcade-style racing formula and finds a multitude of ways to keep the player coming back for more. Available On: PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
