Nikita Dzhigurda was born on March 27, 1961 in Kiev in the family of engineers Boris Ivanovich Dzhigurda and Yadviga Ivanovna Mikhailova. Nikita has an older brother – Sergei (actor, poet), a younger brother (half-father) – Ruslan (actor, chansonnier) and sister Elena. After the parents’ divorce, the children were actually raised by their stepfather, Viktor Matveyevich Kravchuk.

From a young age, the future singer was seriously engaged in canoeing, having fulfilled the standard of a candidate for master of sports. Dzhigurda would be the champion of Ukraine and a member of the national canoeing team.

From the age of 13, Nikita began to sing with a guitar, considering his idol Vladimir Vysotsky. After graduating from school, he entered the Institute of Physical Education, which he dropped out a year later. During his studies, Dzhigurda married a classmate Nele, in marriage with whom they had a son, Vladimir. The second wife of the future singer was the actress Marina Esipenko, who soon left Dzhigurda and married the bard Oleg Mityaev.

In 1987, Dzhigurda made his film debut, starring in the film “Wounded Stones”.

In 1993, Nikita tried his hand at the role of a film director and screenwriter, filming the thriller “Reluctant Superman, or Erotic Mutant”, where he also played the main role.

Another striking work of the actor was the role of the Cossack Ivan Koltso in the historical film “Ermak” (1996).

In the mid-1990s, Nikita Dzhigurda married the poetess Yana Pavelkovskaya, whom he met during a casting for his dance group. In 2001, the couple divorced, and in 2002 and 2008, already out of wedlock, sons Artemy-Dobrovlad and Ilya-Maximilian were born to Nikita and Yana.
