How to Roll Out Walls and Ceilings

Flooring Styles

How many times have we said “I’ll take care of it”? Starting a project, only to find that you’re not quite cut off, either with the time, the knowledge, or the energy to complete. Painting walls and ceilings requires all of these attributes, having the proper knowledge will save time and energy, completing the painting project like a painting professional. Having only a limited time and without one of the two remaining attributes, it will be set to complete it. I admire anyone who even considers painting walls and ceilings, knowing how much work is involved. A lot goes into a painting project before the paint is even applied, and these topics on how to unfold walls and ceilings will be covered for a quick guide.

1st. You need to keep your mind in mind to make your wall and ceiling painting project look great, even if you are in a corporate setting from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

2nd. Someone needs to clean all the walls and baseboards with a damp cloth – a perfect place where dust settles even in the cleanest homes. Allow the trim surfaces to dry completely as the masking tape will not adhere to the trim surface.

3rd. Masking the baseboards with a manual masker using 9-12 “masking paper and regular 1” masking tape once completely dry is the next step. Going down the road, a manual masker is worth the money as it has multiple rooms to paint. Most hand maskers cost around $ 50.00 plus the sheet, which costs around $ 10.00. Buy the sheet of film, as it will cut paper and plastic, but the sheet of paper only cuts paper. I don’t know why they do both, only to catch someone off guard, selling an inferior product.

4th. After masking the baseboards, a fine bead of paintable latex sealant is needed, also wipe clean with a damp cloth, needing amount to fill the cracks from the baseboard to the wall, and seal the tape to prevent paint migration underneath from the tape to the socket. Now you are getting closer to being ready to paint, but you still have work to do.

5th. Move all the furniture to the center of the room to be painted, so that it will be easier to cover if you are painting ceilings and certainly not get in the way of painting walls.

6th. Get your old sheets, blankets, and comforters using as a drop cloth tools for pointing , laying them on top of brown masking paper. This will ensure that there is no paint splatter, as most professional painting companies use canvas fabrics and a large rolled plastic film for covering.

7th. Now that all of your baseboards are clean, masking all the areas that won’t get paint, it’s time to break the brush, cut, and brush on the tape line a few inches above the baseboard. Do the same on the ceiling if the ceiling is a different color than the wall.

8th. Now that all the edges have been “cut off” into the walls, the real fun begins with a paint roller. If you haven’t already purchased a roller and frame, buy a 14 “instead of a 9”. A 14 “roller and frame will also require a special roller tray, but they can be purchased fairly inexpensively, saving many hours depending on how many square feet of wall surface you are going to make. If you are painting just one or two rooms, a 9 “will do just fine.

9th. Load your rolling pin, remove the excess, start in a corner of the room. A few feet from the corner, in the middle of the wall, write a Z or W, going back to the corner with the outside edge of the frame pointing towards the wall you will go to. Rolling from top to bottom, keeping the frame pointing in the same direction, after each reloading and rolling. This will ensure that there are no thick marks or darker lines on the walls or ceilings, as this technique applies to ceilings as well. A very important painting tip, known only to seasonal painting professionals and EzineArticles readers.

Hope this helps you with your next interior painting wall and ceiling painting project. Any comments would be greatly appreciated, as I can talk about painting all day, a hobby and a love of more than 30 years.
